Baby Chicks

The younger girls have been wanting to have chickens for such a long time. Two years ago dad told Luanna that she could get some chickens if she would get rid of her sheep before winter. Soooo, she sold her sheep and waited till spring to get the chickens. Of course, when spring finally came we didn't have time or a place to get them. It kept getting put off. So anyway, this spring we looked for some. Hoping to get some full grown laying hens. Unfortunately we could find anybody willing to sell the ones they already raised, so we had to order chicks. Of course, the little ones are so much cuter that big ones :)

We ordered 30 of them. Four different varieties. One kind is an 'Easter egg' kind that lays different unique colored eggs (pink, blue, brown, green, etc.) It will be interesting to see how them colored ones look! Now if we can just keep them alive long enough to get a few eggs! I'm sure Slippers will love getting her paws on them!!

Past couple of days

Not a whole lot has been going on over here excpet that we've been getting rain, rain, and more rain! Sunday morning we woke up to snow...after we've been hearing for like a week that we would get snow every night!
A couple of branches off the new trees broke off, so mom braved the weather to go out there and tried knocking off some of the snow to save her poor trees.
Also on Sunday Joe and I went to White Sulfer Springs to look at some horses that were for sale. We liked what we saw :) So maybe in afew days I'll post our new horses, along with baby chicks that should come in tomorrow.

And yes...we did buy her:p

baby bluebirds

My favorite bird is the bluebirds!!
The last two years we've had the enjoyment of watching them raise a family in Duane's birdhouse. Its such a pretty sight :)
I tried to get a few pictures of the inside of the house...
Inside our bird house.
Two of them hatched last Thursday, and then today when I looked I seen that all five were hatched and hungry!

Slippers

This past week-end was a wonderful time for us :) Dad got to go riding/bear hunting, Joe and Kaylena went 4-wheeling, Karissa, Duane, Luanna JaLynn and I all went hiking while mom and David went to a couple garage sales.
It was such a beautiful day and for JaLynn it was extra special because while mom was at a garage sale she found a special little free 'gift' for JaLynn-which thrilled her!
So meet Slippers!!
You can see why they named her slippers :)
Yes, she does have extra toes *smile*
The little girls have been wanting a kitty for a long time but with our dogs we didn't think that it would be a good idea, but how could you resist those cute little antics?

So now we have an extra little joy for the girls, and so far they are enjoying every minute of it! (And of course, David enjoys her too!)

She's packing...

With a wedding coming on next month Kim, Joe, and Karissa decided to go to OK for a week or so to work on the house-and pack up most of the things Kim wouldn't be needing before the wedding.
Turned out to be quite the job!!

Lots of sorting to do :)

Thankfully there's lots of help...

They will be leaving at 4:00 am tomorrow morning.

Please keep them in your prayers as they travel :)

Glick Family

Jan. 1 2009 was the 50th anniversary for our Glick grandparents. With their 13 children, 12 spouses, (of the children's) 82 grandchildren, (5 grandchildren's spouses) and 10 great-grandchildren there was quite a crowd of descendants :) Most also seem to be fervently serving the Lord, which they feel is the biggest blessing.
